Description
Modern figurative abstract celebrating the beauty and life giving force of women. SHE is SHADES of COLOR - BEYOND the confines of the SINGULARITY of EXPECTATIONS. SHE kneels in meditation STORING STRENGTH to PUSH BOUNDARIES.
Artist Note - "This is a break from the tone of the previous TREES, but fitting the subject matter - I had recently worked on a collaboration with my dearest, VIVA, and the term "women of color" popped into my consciousness. Today, this phrase points toward race, and so too I celebrate the many shades of "women of color" but I also celebrate the spirit of these women that I believe, while not to disrespect racial heritage, is far beyond the confines of geography and race. This is universal and so celebrate women who push beyond "the singularity of expectations" to become something MORE!"

It's another! of 40, rainy days here/Sydney. Enjoying re-visiting your Special Editions Series. Though I gave lots of thought then, when I posted at first sight, I've now spent more time (a-plenty:rain), and think about your "singularity of expectations' quote in your Artist Note. Ken, we women DO have that singularity of expectation, towards each other, in simpatico !! WE are a 'sisterhood', and complicated, yet, not! Our gifts are universal to our gender, as you continually celebrate us. What I love here is how you KNOW she WANTS to push boundaries !! Thank you, for 'knowing' that/giving credence to 'our' depths of love of life itself. :)VIVA
